Get ready for it. 2009 is going to come onto you like a Big Mac Heart Attack of Awesomeness. Can you say laminated BFF Society membership cards?

Excuse me. I need to go cruise around the city in my new ride.

Our Five Guys Wrapup Can't Be Contained In A Single Post!!!

Our original BFF Society Five Guys Wrapup just didn’t cover all the ground it needed to in order to fully represent our thoughts and views of the Five Guys experience. Here are some random notes from a few members:

Chris:

“The peanuts are a nice touch. The seating is flexible but not special. Very clean. Men’s bathroom, very acceptable.”

“A few suggestions—add some photographs on walls, could argue there are too many banners. Also, I like Tim’s glasses.”

Jolene:

“This place reminds me of Pee Wee’s Playhouse. My burger was delicious and the “Little Burger” is the perfect size! Free peanuts! Unlimited toppings—amazing!”

“I wish they offered unsweetened iced tea. The bun was soft, it got soggy quickly.”

Edyta:

“I like the color scheme… it’s the same colors (red and white) as the country of Poland!”

BFF SOCIETY MEETING WRAPUP: FIVE GUYS!

We came. We ordered. We scarfed down lots of burgers and fries courtesy of Five Guys. The BFF Society would like to welcome Chris, Hannah, Edyta, Zoe, Jolene and Jimmy to the Burgers and French Fries Society of Philadelphia. Your membership cards are being developed as we speak.

Now on to the good stuff—the burgers and fries—and the skinny on the deliciousness of Five Guys. We used a very unscientific rating system to measure the success of the Five Guys burgers and fries. Members were asked to rank the experience based on ambience, execution of deliciousness, quality of the burger and fries, and overall awesomeness. The clip below is a behind the scenes look as to how the group determined their official ratings:

And now for the official rankings for Five Guys (on a scale from 1 to 11):

Ambience: 5.35

Execution of Deliciousness: 7.64

Burger Overall: 8.58

French Fries Overall: 7.41

Total Awesomness: 8.87

So how is it possible that the overall awesomeness is higher than any other score by itself? The answer is simple—the collective power of the BFF Society made the experience so insanely awesome that the math just refuses to make logical sense. That is what happens when you are a part of the BFF Society. Every burger and every french fry tastes better in the group.

BREAKING NEWS: One of the top brass at Five Guys HQ leaked a super secret photo of a beach meeting of the original Five Guys. Check it out below!

Actually that is a picture of five fratastic dudes all asking the cameraman if he wants a “knuckleball sandwich.” Except for the guy on the far right. He’s just chillin’ as per usual, wondering if there is a Jamba Juice nearby, because you can tell he’s dying for a smoothie.

OMG The first meeting has been announced!

Mark this down someplace where you won’t forget it. THIS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th, 5 PM—The Burgers and French Fries Society of Philadelphia is holding its first annual meeting of deliciousness at Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 1527 Chestnut Street. Although it’s red and white tile decor may not be the best design aesthetic, you will forget about your surroundings as soon as you bite into one of the delicious burgers Five Guys has to offer. And don’t get me started on those french fries. Here are some facts about this burger haven:

There are over 250,000 ways to order a hamburger at Five Guys

In addition to burgers and fries, there are complimentary peanuts available to every customer

They do not have any freezers on site—just coolers. Everything is fresh.

If you are in the neighborhood and you’re hungry, stop by and say hello. Needless to say it will probably be the best decision you’ve made in the short history of your lifetime.

Super awesome BFF Society kickoff meetup (TBD)

Get excited. Here at the BFF Society HQ we are working hard to determine the location and meeting day/time of the first meetup. Details are sparse at the moment, but what we can tell you is that the meeting will consist of eating delicious burgers and mouth-watering french fries. Stay tuned for an official announcement.

Don’t you wish you lived in parts of California, Nevada,...

Don’t you wish you lived in parts of California, Nevada, Utah or Arizona?
The James Beard Foundation recently asked 248 people if there was a distinct “Americana” food—and 90.8% of them responded with “Hamburger.” This is not a surprise, because in case you didn’t know, hamburgers are awesomely delicious. In addition, hamburgers lend themselves to a perfect complementary side dish—french fries. There are an infinite number of very fine and not-so-fine establishments that serve hamburgers and french fries to Americans on a daily basis. The Burgers and French Fries Society of Phiadelphia is here to celebrate the good (and sometimes the bad) hamburger joints across the city with friends and perfect strangers.

The Burgers and French Fries Society of Phiadelphia will meet a few times a month to enjoy the well-known and hidden treasures of the hamburger/french fries world. Come eat with us.
